St. Briavels Castle Adventure

On Thursday 24th May 2012 we had the adventure of a lifetime...

We spent two days at St Briavels Castle and what a fantastic time we had!

We made candles and decorated shields. We had a go at archery and knocked down castle walls. We had a banquet and ate with our fingers and told medieval stories in the great hall.

St Briavels Castle has been a Norman fortress, a Royal castle; hunting lodge of King John of England and also visited by Henry II, who made St Briavels Castle the administrative and judicial centre for the Forest of Dean. It has also been a prison, a school and a private house.

Below are a selection of photos from our amazing trip.
