Class 3 topic this term is 'Amazing Africa!'. We will be learning all about this fascinating and diverse continent and exploring the physical and human aspects of geography.
We have been lucky enough to have Miss Clare Jakeman in class this week. Clare works for the charity ' Thrive Africa' as their marketing and recruitment officer and has spent time working with children in Ghana. Clare was kind enough to bring in a variety of different items from her African visit and ran our unlocking afternoon with a session called,'Let's investigate Ghana!'.
The children were fascinated by the session and it has really inspired them to learn more about the topic.
This year we will continue to send home 10 spellings every Monday for the children to learn for a spelling test the next Monday morning. Results will be recorded in the children’s home liaison books.
Mental maths passport tests and times table grid tests take place once a week.
In Science our topics are changing materials and magnetism and in PE West Bromwich Albion are in teaching football sessions. Swimming will start after Christmas and will be on a Monday, more details to follow.
Class 3 are loving the new Philosophy sessions each Tuesday and will be starting ukulele lessons on Tuesday 22nd September.
