This half term our Christian Value is LOVE.

We are a happy, family school with strong Christian values. We all work together to promote a love of learning where children succeed and reach their full potential. We hope you enjoy your visit.Hanley Swan Primary School is part of the Hanley and Upton Educational Trust

This week the children could watch a short fantasy film called 'Once in a Lifetime' - they loved it last year. There are some lovely reading and writing opportunities.

Here it is:

I have attached some reading questions using the VIPERS skills (the explanation leaflet was on last week's English link).

The children may also enjoy writing about this. They could retell the story and predict what they might think happens next. Don't forget to make it interesting by using strong descriptive adjectives, different sentence starters and remember that punctuation! The Year 2 children have learnt about full stops, commas in lists, apostrophes, questions and exclamation marks. They do not need to know about speech marks at this stage and I have discouraged the use of them.

The children could even draw a picture to go along with their writing.
