Literacy, Maths & topic:
The BBC are releasing lessons on BBC Bitesize on both the internet and on the TV - through iPlayer and the red button. The 5-7 age group is aimed at Year 1 but would be appropriate for our children to watch. Here is Monday’s Maths TV.
Message from Mrs Dodd.
Hello children I thought I would send you a little message about our tadpoles!!
When I last saw you, I brought in some frogspawn that was just starting to change into tadpoles. I have been looking after it and watching the tadpoles grow!! I feed them some dried fish food sometimes and give them plenty of weeds to swim in and hide.
There are some pond snails and ramshorn snails in the tank with them too! Some of the tadpole have now gone to Barry's (our vicar's) new pond . I have kept the rest and will look after them, as they change into frogs ready for our pond. Have a look at the photos page to see pictures of them !!
If you would like to draw a picture of a pond with little tadpoles wiggling and swimming in it, please do and send it to the Class 1 e- mail.
I would love to see your pictures!! Look forward to hearing from you from Mrs Dodd
On Sunday morning I sent the following letter to you all via the new class email. Please email me at email@example.com if you did not receive it.
Have you had a lovely Easter? I hope you managed to enjoy a little bit of chocolate and get to play outside in the warm sunshine.
I wanted to send you an email to say hello and to tell you that we are missing you loads. We miss seeing your smiley faces every morning, we miss the happiness and enthusiasm that you have everyday and above all, we miss working with you.
I hope you are making the most of your time at home with lots of resting, playing, sharing family time and being good.
On Monday it is the start of the Summer term and we would normally be going back to school. This year we are having to spend more time in our homes and to keep your brains ticking over I will continue to add activities to the school website for you to have a go at. https://www.hanleyswanprimaryschool.co.uk/home-learning/
We have also set up new class emails for us to use – firstname.lastname@example.org . Please email us! Email us to say hello, email us to tell us about what you have been up to and email us to show us the work that you have done. We ALWAYS enjoy receiving your emails and will ALWAYS reply.
We look forward to hearing from you.
All the best
Mr Bundy, Mrs Dodd and Miss Evans
I hope that you had a lovely Easter and had an opportunity to have a little bit of rest from the madness of these strange times!
I always wanted to be a teacher (since I was 5 years old) and now I am having to work on a computer every day, I know that I definitely made the right decision. This style of working is not for me and I really miss working with the children! I also know that this is the case for Mrs Dodd and Miss Evans!
To help the children learn and develop, I will continue to add and signpost activities for you to do at home. Please remember that these are suggestions and ideas and you can only do your best!
I appreciate that home learning is not easy! Having time to do it in between working, space to do it, the right resources to complete activities, enough printer ink, enough technology for everyone to use at once and everyone in the right frame of mind! I know these are issues because I am dealing with them daily as well. Therefore, I reiterate – just do your best! Try and do a little bit each day and if you can do more that is great.
If you have any issues or questions about the home learning activities, please feel free to email me anytime – email@example.com .
Please let the children email me. Let them write it as independently as they can. Do not worry about spelling (as long as it is phonetic) and feel free to add a photo, picture or video attachments.
All the best
