The Life Cycle of a Caterpillar
This week we are going to learn about the life cycle of a caterpillar or the life cycle of the butterfly. They are the same thing, do you know why?
What is a life cycle?
On the maths page you will see the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar read by the Author Eric Carle. This is a very famous story about the life cycle of a caterpillar (although I do not think that caterpillars really eat all those foods, do you?)
Here is some information and a video about what really happens (the video is attached separately)…
Butterflies are starting to fly around our gardens at this time of year.
Can you go on a butterfly hunt - you have to be patient -and see if you can spot any?
What plants do butterlies like?
Where do butterflies like to lay their eggs?
Have you seen this picture in this weeks maths work?
I think it looks like the markings on some butterfly wings and it is very similar in style to Eric Carle's illustrations in The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
It is by a very famous artist called Kandinsky.
Kandinsky was an abstract artist who used music to inspire him, what is abstract art?
Can you create your own music inspired art?
Listen to you favourite music and then let your creativity flow...
Listen to different types of music and see how your pictures change.
Have a look (Google) at some other Kandinsky art and see if you can create your own versions.
