Welcome
We are a happy, family school with strong Christian values. We all work together to promote a love of learning where children succeed and reach their full potential. We hope you enjoy your visit.Hanley Swan Primary School is part of the Hanley and Upton Educational Trust
Hope you are all well and have been having a good time enjoying playing and learning at home. I have loved seeing all of your hard work, hearing all your funny stories and answering your emails. You are all amazing! School is not the same without all of Class 2 and we still miss you very much.
It has been lovely to see some of you in school and it's been fantastic the way that the children in school have settled very quickly into a happy and settled routine. It really is delightful to hear the sound of laughter in school again.
We are very excited to be welcoming most of Year 1 back to school next week. This is brilliant! Now, I know that some of you are having a little worry, but please don't. Class 2 is a little different, there will be fewer tables and you will each have your own desk with a small basket of pens and pencils. We will play on Class 1 decking, where there are loads of construction toys and exciting things to do.We can also play on a section of the field with a ball if we want to. I am planning some activities that I know you will enjoy and we will have lots of fun. We want to hear all about what you've been up to and listen to your news, a lot of things have happened and it has not always been easy not seeing out friends - but now we can! We have a few new rules, which we'll talk about and we'll wash our hands lots to keep them nice and clean. We eat lunch altogether, if it is dry weather in the quad area - it's like a special picnic It's a good space to enjoy lunch and spread out in. We try to distance from each other as much as possible so that those nasty germs don't get us. Sometimes, when we are playing outside we forget, but don't worry Mrs Jones and myself are around at playtime watching carefully so that you can play safely. It is our job to keep you as safe as possible and we will have a lovely time, so please don't worry. We can't wait to see you and we will be waiting with the biggest of smiles for you all. Welcome back Year 1!
Year 2, we will see you very soon in forest school. This week we have lots of exciting topic ideas based on The Snail and the Whale - you'll love it!
