This half term our Christian Value is FRIENDSHIP and our Skill for Life is COLLABORATION.

We are a happy, family school with strong Christian values. We all work together to promote a love of learning where children succeed and reach their full potential. We hope you enjoy your visit.Hanley Swan Primary School is part of the Hanley and Upton Educational Trust

Week Beginning 22nd June

Hola Class 4

Como estas? It's wonderful to see how many of you are enjoying the Spanish lessons. This week, you will learn how to talk about the weather in Spanish. In science, it's time to leave the plant world and explore the amazing animal kingdom. My maths group are going to get dynamic with decimals and Mr Pratley's group are exploring areas and volumes. We haven't done a lot of fiction writing lately, so I thought we would build up our story writing skills in English. Computing is all about coding in Scratch.

I thought we would finish the term with a few mini topics: I have chosen heroes this week, but if you want to follow your own topic and find out more about something that really interests you, I would love to see your work. To celebrate the end of our Shackleton & Antarctica topic, I have put your newspaper reports and photos on this page. There is still time to join the crew, so design your set and costume and start snapping!

Keep smiley!

If you would prefer, there are a set of five lessons from Oak National Academy about writing story settings. The link is below:

Watch this clip to discover the main characteristics of each group in the animal kingdom. Find some of your own examples of organisms which would fit in each group. Choose a way to record the groups, the characteristics and your examples.

Watch this clip and see if you can write a program to make a car race around a track. You will need Scratch.
