Our School Values

Underpinning our school vision for the children at Hanley Swan C of E Primary School is a commitment to ensuring that every child leaves the school with six core Christian values that will help them become excellent role models and citizens.

Our 6 Core Christian values are:
  1. Respect
  2. Love
  3. Friendship
  4. Compassion
  5. Kindness
  6. Perseverance

We also integrate the four key Christian Values of the Church of England into everything that we do at Hanley Swan C of E Primary School. These are Wisdom, Hope, Dignity and Community.

Educating for wisdom, knowledge and skills: enabling discipline, confidence and delight in seeking wisdom and knowledge, and developing talents in all areas of life.

Educating for hope and aspiration: enabling healing, repair and renewal, coping wisely when things go wrong, opening horizons and guiding people into ways of fulfilling them.

Educating for community and living well together: a core focus on relationships, participation in communities and the qualities of character that enable people to flourish together.

Educating for dignity and respect: the basic principle of respect for the value and preciousness of each person, treating each person as a unique individual of inherent worth.

To help support the children with understanding our school Values and strengthen our links we have a new resource for you to access and use at home.

Below is a link to some of the values from the ‘Home School Values’ pack. This resource is produced to help families focus on and understand the importance of our core Christian Values. Each sheet has a selection of stories, information and activities to do together to stimulate discussion and reflection.

If you would like a hard copy then please pop into the office and ask.

Please take time to have a look and enjoy some of the activities with your children…
