  • O2 and NSPCC Online Safety

    Thu 10 Oct 2019

More and more of our young people have access to a mobile phone. With these new experiences and powers comes great responsibility for us to help keep the children safe and happy. One way to do this is to have a look at the O2 and NSPCC resources

O2 and the NSPCC have joined forces on a mission to help all children and their families in the UK stay safe online. Together, they’re offering useful tools, support and guidance to help parents and carers have conversations with their children about their online lives.

If you need any support with online issues then please phone the O2 and NSPCC Online Safety Helpline on 0808 800 5002, or pop into your local O2 store for help from a Guru.

  • Road Safety

    Thu 10 Oct 2019

On Tuesday morning class 1 and 2 had a very informative talk from a representative of the council road safety team about safety as a pedestrian and the use of car seats. She talked about safe use of the pavement, how to cross a road and safe places to cross a road. She also went onto to talk about who should use a car seat and where children should sit.

Some interesting points about car seats to come out of the talk:

All children until they are 12 years old or under 135cm should use a car seat – which is most of class 1 and 2 and some of class 3.

Children should not use the front passenger seat until they are 13.

If a child has to be seated in a front passenger seat then the seat must be moved back on its runners as far as it will go and/or turn the airbags off.
