We are incredibly excited to begin another fantastic year of learning, discovery and achievement together. Our children will be encouraged to be curious, challenge themselves and enjoy learning in a happy, supportive environment.
Mrs Drinkwater is the class teacher and will be leading the children's learning throughout the year. Mrs Bundy is our class Teaching Assistant and will be supporting the children across all areas of the curriculum. Miss Hall will be working with us as a Teaching Assistant for English and Maths, helping children develop confidence and success in these key subjects. Mrs Shackley will also be supporting the class on some mornings, working with groups and individuals.
We believe that strong partnerships between home and school are essential for helping children reach their full potential. Your support, encouragement and involvement make a huge difference, and we truly value the relationship we build with our families. Please never hesitate to speak to us if there is anything you feel would help us support your child.
Reading is at the heart of everything we do. We ask that children read at least five times a week, and this is monitored through their Home Liaison Books, which should be signed by an adult. As a reward, children who meet this goal will enjoy extra playtime.
Reading together is a wonderful way to bond with your child while supporting their learning. Whether it is sharing a story, or helping with school reading books, your involvement makes a huge difference.
Reading helps children to:
Fluent reading and strong comprehension skills are essential across the curriculum, and we work hard to nurture a lifelong love of reading in every child.
Inside the front of your child's Home Liaison Book you will find their login details for Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS). This is a fun and engaging online game that the school pays for to support children in learning and practising their times tables.
A secure knowledge of times tables is a critical mathematical skill that underpins many areas of maths. Regular use of TTRS at home can make a real difference to your child's confidence, fluency and progress while making learning enjoyable.
