Literacy Plan

Class 2 Literacy will follow the same routine everyday. We will begin with handwriting, Year 1 will then do the Phonics - Read Write Inc activity and Year 2 will do either spelling or grammar. This week, to keep things as simple as possible, Year 2 will just concentrate on the spelling sheet in the home learning pack, which is the le and el words. Spelling activities can include:

• making word searches
• writing spellings out in different colours
• making rhymes (mnemonic) to help remember the words 
• looking for patterns with the words
• reading, writing, covering and then remembering the words  

These are just some ideas to add variety. 

After doing handwriting, phonics or spellings there is a literacy activity to complete. This is above and I loaded it as a PowerPoint and a PDF as I have tried to make this accessible to everyone, which is a feat in itself! If you have any problems or questions, then please email on class2@hanleyswanps.org.uk.

Each day the Read Write Inc team post sound videos on their youtube channel.

For our Year 1 children they can revise Set 2 and learn Set 3. There are also 2 other useful videos on challenging words and red (tricky) words that are worth a watch if you have time.
